Zu Hao joined Eng and Co. LLC from one of the largest full-service law firms in Singapore. He has represented both issuers and underwriters in a wide range of capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings on the Mainboard and Catalist board of the SGX-ST, as well as secondary offerings such as rights issues, placements and bonus issues.

Zu Hao also regularly advises on local and cross-border transactions such as public and private M&As, DeSPACs, joint ventures as well as general corporate and regulatory matters.

Prior to legal practice, Zu Hao was a management associate with the Singapore Exchange Group, where he was rotated across business and regulatory departments. Zu Hao also previously served as an adjunct research associate with the NUS Centre for Banking and Finance Law and was a recipient of the SGX Undergraduate Scholarship in 2009.

Zu Hao was named by Asian Legal Business as one of Asia’s 40 Lawyers Under 40 in 2024 and as one of Singapore’s Rising Stars in 2022. Zu Hao has also received praise as a practitioner who is “responsive and [who] provides client-oriented service” in IFLR1000 reviews.

Zu Hao is effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin.

Zu Hao graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree and is admitted to the Singapore Bar.

Zu Hao’s key experience includes:

• Acted for Vertex Technology Acquisition Corporation Ltd, the first SPAC listing on the SGX-ST Mainboard, as well as its business combination with 17LIVE Inc., the first de-SPAC on the SGX-ST Mainboard
• Acted for Cuscaden Peak Investments in its landmark divestment of its purpose-built student accommodation portfolio to Mapletree Investments
• Acted for the Consistent Record Pte. Ltd., in the privatisation and delisting of Low Keng Huat (Singapore) Limited from the SGX-ST Mainboard by way of a voluntary general offer.
• Acted for YCP Holdings (Global) Limited in its acquisition of Renoir Holdings, an independent consulting firm with operations across Asia, the Americas and Europe
• Advised the shareholder of a trustee-manager of a business trust listed on the SGX-ST in respect of a strategic partnership and proposed disposal of shareholding in the trustee-manager
• Acted for First Sponsor Group Limited in its bonus issue and rights issue of perpetual convertible capital securities
• Acted for the sole issue manager, bookrunner and underwriter in APAC Realty Limited’s initial public offering on the SGX-ST Mainboard
• Acted as international counsel for PT Integra Indocabinet Tbk’s initial public offering on the Indonesia Stock Exchange
